Step out of time.  Step into another world.  Imagine, you meandering along some old boulevard in Paris or Italy.  Warm evening breezes tussle your hair.  From down the street, the unmistakable sound of smokin' live jazz catches your attention, beckoning you.  You can't help but follow, already feeling the creative energy buzzing through your bones.  You quickly discover that the music is coming from a tiny, cobblestone-clad building.  Set deep in the stone, bright green doors signal the entrance.  Once inside, you are surprised to find yourself in an intimate triangular space lit with warm hues and flickering candles.  Even the wooden tables are triangular.  Colorful carpets adorn the walls and, just in front of them, are the musicians.  You are in the room together - a cozy concert space, not separated by a big bandstand or a high stage. You are close enough to feel the inspiration and hear the clacking of the sax player’s keys, as they take you on an acoustical adventure.  You experience a little rush because it feels as if you have just walked into an exclusive, private club or someone's elaborate living room, but the bartender welcomes you warmly and fixes you a tasty cocktail.  Settling in to the cozy atmosphere, you indulge in a night of engaging music, soul-warming atmosphere, and genuine company...

Welcome to Schwartz's Point, Cincinnati's own Euro-style Jazz and Acoustic club, located in a lovely little historic building, at the 5-way intersection of Vine,  McMicken, and Findlay, in North OTR.  For your listening pleasure, we offer live music Thursday through Sunday evenings.  You will usually find great jazz, but on Sunday evenings, you might be treated to Blues, Latin Jazz, or interesting Jazz-influenced or Jazz-spawned creations stretching outside the Jazz box. And on the first Thursday of each month, we invite poets, writers, and word-weavers to come share their creations with live music accompaniment for the Po-Jazz Experiment - a truly magical experience!  Most other Thursdays are dedicated to our Duetes de Jazz Series - where we explore the intimate and fascinating art-form of the Jazz Duet in our acoustically exceptional space.  The musical conversations between two instruments and musicians is both relaxing and engaging.   In any case, the music will be excellent, maybe even something you've never heard before, and the musicians will be talented.  Check out our Calendar of Events, to see who's "got chops" this week.  What goes great with hot jazz?  A cool cocktail, of course!  Let us make you an old favorite or enjoy one of our signature craft cocktails utilizing our fresh, hand-crafted, natural fruit and herb infusions.  The Chet Basil (gin, lime, and juiced basil), our Tito (Puente) Mohito (gold rum, fresh - made lavender & mint cordial, lime), or The Fitzgerald Espresso Martini (Tito's vodka, Kahlua, chocolate, & fresh espresso with a hint of orange) are a couple of favorites.  You might also want to try one of our seasonal or whimsical wine, spirit, or beer selections listed on our Specials Menu.  Need a pick-me-up?  We now serve espresso, during concert breaks, to put a little zing in your listening experience.  Save room for dessert!  We have a lovely selection of rotating desserts to satisfy that after-dinner craving!

Please Note:

  • There is always a cover charge at The Point, usually a modest $5, except on Saturdays when it is $10 until 10pm, then $5, **and occasionally higher to accommodate special shows.  Ours is an intimate concert space.  This money goes to compensating our musicians and is an important part of supporting our local, and visiting talent - keeping the Queen City hoppin' with creativity and musical innovation.
  • We now take credit cards, but people who pay with cash are Extra Hip and Extra Cool!!
  • Due to our cozy setting, there is a $5 drink and/or food minimum, per person.  Your purchases keep our lovely establishment open and offering happinin' Jazz!
